There is no denying that Islamic business and finance has provided ample opportunities for women to excel in their professional life and achieve their full potential. This is evident by the increasing participation of professional women in the development of Islamic business and finance, shattering the industry’s glass ceiling. As inspirational role models, they have become drivers of change that have inspired a whole new generation of female talent. While diverse in their occupations, backgrounds and age, this group of distinguished women are bonded together by their strong convictions to eradicate discrimination and to make a difference that positively affects women and their communities.

At Cambridge IFA, we have been promoting the cause of gender equality and women empowerment since 2011, highlighting and promoting the role of women in Islamic business and finance through our WOMANi programme.

WOMANi is a world-wide recognition and felicitation programme, designed by Cambridge IFA, as part of our women empowerment initiative. WOMANi intends to redress the gender imbalance, by showcasing the achievements of women in Islamic business and finance.

WOMANi connects, inspires and champions a growing global network of women in Islamic business and finance. Through our annual WOMANi Report and WOMANi Awards, we:
• Empower like-minded women
• Provide a platform for women to lead industry discussions and build their industry profiles
• Celebrate the achievements.

In drawing up a definitive list of these influential women, Cambridge IFA canvasses a wide range of market opinions and conducts extensive data mining exercises while assessing their influence and leadership over their company and market, as well as their career and performance to date. These assessments are carried out via a methodology based on three factors:
• Professional Leadership
• Advocacy
• Industry-wide recognition
